Lin Holland Fine Art Sculpture
Lin Holland completed her training in Fine Art Sculpture at Manchester Metropolitan University (formerly Manchester Polytechnic) in 1985. She went on to establish a studio practice at Arena Art & Design Association where she has continued to make work and exhibit locally, nationally and internationally.
In 1990 Lin was appointed 0.5 Lecturer in Sculpture at Liverpool Hope and in 1995 was invited to Australia as Artist in Residence at the Western Australian School of Art & Design. The Residency was for a period of three months and culminated in an exhibition at The Door Gallery in Fremantle.
In 1997 Lin travelled to Germany for an International Sculpture Symposium and to Kenya to participate in an International Artists Workshop where she lived and worked alongside twenty-two other artists from around the world and exhibited the work at the National Art Gallery of Nairobi. This experience had a profound impact and Lin organised, in collaboration with Liverpool Hope, Triangle Arts Trust, The Bluecoat and Oriel Mostyn Galleries, an International Workshop in Plas Caerdeon, Barmouth, North Wales, bringing together International Artists from places such as Brazil, Japan, Nigeria, Singapore, Indonesia and The Carribean.
Lin continues to teach as a 0.5 Lecturer at Liverpool Hope, and maintains a professional studio practice in Liverpool. She is currently making a new body of work exploring issues of the sublime and the mundane.
